Photo Mania Game Review

Time management games can be integrated into any business, there’s no doubt about that. In fact, it can even be integrated into the delicate job of photography. Photo Mania introduces us to such a field as this new casual game proves to gamers that photography can be a strenuous exercise too. But can this installment represent the profession well enough?

The game takes you in control of a girl named Ellie – a newly graduated photographer who wants to start her own business using her newfound skills. However, being short on cash and only with basic tools at her disposal, she then starts her studio in an open field just outside her own home. You must help Ellie grow this business and fulfill her dreams; step by step on the way to becoming the greatest studio photographer the town has ever known.

Photo Mania is much like any time management game where you have to fulfill customer requests and deliver them service within their patience levels. First step is to have them choose the colors and backgrounds for their photos, second is to print the photos in their choice of paper, and lastly, deliver the end result and profit from your service. It’s nothing really different from any other time management game, and with that, the game encounters one of its biggest flaw.

As usual, upgrades are also available for you to purchase after each level: from the cameras, to the paper brands, to even buying a cat in order to cheer up customers. The game balances these upgrades with several obstacles you have to contend with during the actual game. One is frequently changing the camera batteries so that you can keep getting customer photographs, and the other is to shoo away Gimp – Ellie’s dog who frequents the scene just to annoy the waiting customers.
